The Most Common Non-Negotiable Property Features
Security
Whether you are planning on moving into one of the richest neighbourhoods in the area or not is irrelevant. The safety of your family is essential; therefore, it is important that the property you are planning on purchasing has a good security system.
Condition of the property
When in a rush to make a purchase, there are buyers who will compromise on the property's condition believing that they can fix the damage cheaply later on. This is a dangerous mistake to make because you can end up paying a lot more than you expected.
Location You might find a really nice property but it’s not quite in the location that you wanted. If you want to live somewhere that’s close to a shopping centre or schools, these are not things you should compromise with. It could end up costing you a lot more than anticipated to travel to these amenities if they are not close by.
Price
One of the major mistakes made by first time buyers is that they compromise on the price. They fall in love with a property that is outside of their budget and believe that they can make a few adjustments in their spending to accommodate it. What typically happens is that home owners end up in a substantial amount of debt or in some cases they can’t afford payments and lose the property.
Major Systems
Make sure that you inspect the air conditioning, heater, hot water, electricity or gas. A system that has been left in disrepair for a long period of time can cost you thousands of dollars if it breaks down. Such damages are typically not covered under insurance policies and you will have to pay for new systems.
Neighbours
Before you make a decision to purchase a property make sure you know who you are going to be living next to. Unfortunately, some neighbours can turn your dream home into a nightmare.
